On July 28th, President Obama spoke to the African Union in Ethiopia to discuss the power structure of their government and the need for long-established leaders to give up their power and step down.
Obama joked to African diplomats: "I actually think I'm a pretty good President; I think if I ran, I could win."

However, a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 30% of likely U.S. Voters say they would vote for the president if he were to run for a third term, while 63% would not.
Here's the breakdown from the survey conducted:
- 57% of identified Democrats would vote to give Obama a third term.
- 93% of identified Republicans, 68% of voters not affiliated with either major party, and 32% of identified Democrats would not.
An amendment to the Constitution prohibits presidential candidates from serving for more than two four-year terms.
Interestingly enough, 19% of all voters believe that the amendment should be changed so presidents can serve for longer terms, while 78% of all voters oppose such change.
