Many of us wish we could have the same lust for life that some animals possess. This pet lamb (video below) seems to be ecstatic about merely being able to walk, bound, and simply be alive. Not everyone can bound, or even walk, but for those that can it's something to seriously think about being grateful for.

"To live would be an awfully big adventure." - J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan.

Non-traditional pets are always exciting to think about obtaining, especially when a video comes that shows them in a better light than your current lineup of critters.

Here is a rundown of lamb ownership from PetAdvisor:

Pros:

  • Gentle, easy to handle, respond well to humans
  • Social animals (as you can see)
  • Miniature lambs are recommended for easier indoor care
  • Ewes (female) are easiest, but neutered males can work as well

Cons:

  • Everywhere is a bathroom (many owners give them diapers to wear)
  • House training may be impossible (but maybe not for you optimists)
  • Breeds with horns and wool should be accounted for
  • Will eat till gorging (grain, not grass of course), so going on vacation will require help

Some other fun animals to consider, hedgehogs, teacup pigs, kinkajous, and marmosets

If only animals could be reasoned with, caring for them would be much easier. Whether you enjoy the exotic pets from a distance, or figure out ways to care for them, we are lucky to live in a world with an abundance of beautiful creatures.
