Neil deGrasse Tyson Just Got Owned By a Frozen Steak Company - and It Was Glorious

Neil deGrasse Tyson just got owned by a frozen steak company.

And that’s not a euphemism – we’re talking about an actual producer of frozen meatstuffs, totally steamrolling one of the supposedly top “scientists” of our time for sounding like a pretentious jerk.

Tyson, the director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space and who has a knack for thinking he’s Go – err, evolution's? gift to mankind -  irritated much of social media Monday when he tweeted, “The good thing about Science is that it’s true, whether or not you believe in it.”

Enter Steak-umms – a company most known for making frozen thin-sliced steak cuts that go great on a toasted hoagie with some provolone and a pile of sautéed onions…and now, apparently, dunking on astrophysicists with big egos.

In a virtual mic-dropping tweet thread, the meat manufacturer blasted Tyson’s bullcrap definition of “science" as some set entity, rather than the human process of trying to learn more about the natural world.

“[S]cience itself isn't "true" it's a constantly refining process used to uncover truths based in material reality and that process is still full of misteaks. neil just posts ridiculous sound bites like this for clout and he has no respect for epistemology,” Steak-umms – or whatever marketing genius runs their Twitter feed – fired back.

“[T]he irony of neil’s tweet is that by framing science itself as “true” he’s influencing people to be more skeptical of it in a time of unprecedented misinformation. science is an ever refining process to find truth, not a dogma. no matter his intent, this message isn’t helpful,” they added.

Hilariously, the meat producer concluded by reminding fans that “we’re a brand selling products ( check it out) so everything we do is based in self interest to grow our business.”
