The state of Nebraska is going back to the drawing board after the design for its new license plate was met with widespread ridicule upon its unveiling. The design, depicting a “sower” throwing grain from a satchel, was seen by many as being “sexually suggestive.”
The design was intended to mirror a statue of a man throwing seeds that sits atop the Nebraska state Capitol building. However, state residents concluded that it bore a resemblance to something far more R-rated. The design was pulled shortly after it was unveiled by the governor, last week.
Perhaps too many Nebraska residents have their minds in the gutter. Either way, the plate will never adorn vehicles in the Cornhusker State.
