Though North Carolina isn’t yet a state that fully values life, it is on the right track.

Last week, a federal judge in N.C. upheld the state's 12-week abortion ban that states a child cannot be brutally murdered in utero after about three months into a pregnancy.

According to the Washington Examiner, the approval came just after Governor Roy Cooper (D-N.C.) signed a version of the bill that aimed to “clarify” the language in the original bill - a.k.a., make it less specific so women and doctors could get away with more. Cooper claimed the prior law “was so poorly written that it is causing real uncertainty for doctors and other health care providers,” which he said prompted him to veto the original bill.

Though Cooper was overridden by the GOP-controlled legislature, he claimed that he would “"continue fighting on all fronts the Republican assault on women’s reproductive freedom.” (Spoiler alert: “reproduction” has already taken place by the time women seek an abortion.)

Despite still allowing abortion through the first trimester, the bill is a good thing for the fight for life.

“In addition to the abortion limitations, the bill also allocates funds for child care, parental leave, and community college assistance targeted toward supporting mothers and their families,” the Washington Examiner noted. It will also require in-person counseling for women seeking abortions and mandates a 72-hour waiting period for surgical abortions.

Abortionists will also be required to provide the abortion-seeking woman with a consent form, which includes a portion where the doctor will display a “real-time view of the unborn child and heart tone monitoring that enable the pregnant woman to view her unborn child or listen to the heartbeat,” the bill noted.  It's an important detail, as many times women are either pressured into an abortion or make decisions without proper knowledge of what an abortion actually is or does, or of the child they're terminating. Mandating that they be given this information will undoubtedly decrease the number of abortions that take place in North Carolina.

As a matter of fact, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America estimated that the 12-week ban will prevent over 3,000 abortions annually in the state. Caitlin Connors, the southern regional director for SBA Pro-Life America, stated, "Passed with a supermajority of the legislature’s support, SB20 reflects the will of the people of North Carolina. We celebrate that babies will be protected at 12 weeks gestation and the state’s record $160 million in funding for parental leave, material support, and many other resources will help women and children in North Carolina."

With the news that more children’s lives will be saved as a result of the bill, pro-aborts hustled to help moms kill their babies before it took effect on July 1. As “The Cut” mentioned, the Carolina Abortion Fund had a goal to “give money to as many patients as possible” to help them kill their babies. Supposedly, the state’s 14 abortion clinics were “working overtime” to urgently kill babies before they couldn’t anymore. N.C. staff and volunteers, in conjunction with the Carolina Abortion Fund, were “able to support about 260” clients out of 700 calls in June. It’s safe to say that roughly 260 babies were killed in June alone in N.C., and yet these people still wish they could have killed more.

Truly the moral compass of these pro-aborts is non-existent.

One man on Twitter even claimed that women wouldn’t be able to celebrate their independence this Fourth of July since they don’t get to kill their babies anymore.

Other groups called it a “devastating blow for the South," while some labeled it a “dark day.”

I’m unsure what makes people think that killing a child at 12 weeks gestation, a baby that already has a beating, detectible heart as well as most of the rest of his or her system being fully formed, is not only OK, but should be encouraged.

I swear these people are working hand in hand with the devil. Hopefully, soon fully pro-life laws will be in place in N.C. Until then, the pro-life movement can take a win when it gets it.
