NBC Deletes 'President Oprah' Tweet - and Of Course, Blames Someone Else

It’s not like a media organization like NBC would push for someone to run for president and cause a national debate — eeeeexcept they did just that.

But now — of course — the network is backtracking.

Unless you’ve been living under a political rock, you’ve probably heard people calling for feminist prophet Oprah Winfrey to run for president in 2020 - a sentiment apparently shared by NBC in a tweet during the 2018 Golden Globes Awards Sunday evening.

After deleting the tweet Monday, NBC issued an "it wasn't me" explanation for why it got published in the first place.

Isn’t that just like a liberal? They deflect any responsibility by blaming a “third-party agency” that they hired and paid.

Winfrey’s speech resonated with easily-led people that have been fed the same narrative for 50 years. It was the quintessential, ideologically Left, Baby Boomer speech. Winfrey brought up race, attacks on the “free” press, the #MeToo movement and equality for women.

I’ll be honest. I didn’t watch this live, as I didn’t have a big enough barf bag at the time. Winfrey’s speech was a social justice warrior’s utopian dream put forth on a national platform. It most likely gave MSNBC’s Chris Matthews the same “thrill up his leg” that former president Obama gave him nine years ago.
