In a disturbing and painfully awkward moment, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appeared to shove the young daughter of newly-inaugurated Texas Congresswoman Mayra Flores, a 30-year-old pro-life, pro-border security Republican and the first Mexican-born woman to serve in the U.S. Congress.

As the cameras flashed following Flores’ swearing-in, video from the event shows an applauding Pelosi seeming to deliberately nudge the little girl with her elbow, dismissively shoving her to the side before smiling back at the cameras.

Here’s another angle – and it doesn’t improve the situation.

Ironically, the radically pro-abortion Pelosi is famous for touting her love for children as a reason to support everything from illegal immigration to big-government, poverty-fueling welfare programs and constitution-shredded gun control.

Flores responded to Pelosi pushing her child in a statement on Twitter, posting: "I am so proud of my strong, beautiful daughter for not allowing this to faze her. She continued to smile and pose for the picture like a Queen. No child should be pushed to the side for a photo op. PERIOD!!"

Fortunately, the little Flores stood her ground and refused to shrink at the House Speaker's bullying.

Just like her mother.
