MSNBC'S Andrea Mitchell Asks If the FBI Should Investigate Whether Kavanaugh Was 'Rude' to Senators

MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell on Tuesday actually asked a sitting U.S. senator whether any FBI probe into allegations of sexual assault against Brett Kavanaugh should include questions over whether the Supreme Court nominee was “rude or showed belligerence to senators.”

Here's Mitchell's entire, honest-to-God question:

“We were just talking to Frank Figlese, a former FBI officer, top ranking officer, and he says that his sources, who are very good sources, in the Bureau tell him that they are still pretty much handcuffed. That yes, more witnesses, follow-up witnesses can be interviewed, but the issue is only the initial allegations from Dr. Ford of a sexual attack. Not lying, not drinking, not whether he was rude or showed belligerence to senators such as yourself. Is that the parameter of this follow-up investigation, and is that something that will be considered before you go to a vote?”

“They have the ability to investigate the whole thing,” Leahy answered.

Shockingly, Mitchell’s question over whether the Federal Bureau of Investigation should look into whether or not Kavanaugh was a bit impolite to a bunch of lawmakers who were trying desperately to paint him as a serial rapist may not have been the dumbest thing to come out of a liberal media talking head’s mouth this week.

Over on CNN, host Alisyn Camerota actually suggested rumors that Kavanaugh once threw ice on someone during a bar fight back in college is somehow “relevant to then a woman who says that you would corner her and put your hand over her mouth, somehow that, I think, makes more sense.”

Also on CNN, a news anchor asked Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono whether she feels the idea that Kavanaugh would throw ice on someone “is in anyway disqualifying for someone to sit on the Supreme Court."

“This is why we need an FBI investigation, because there are a lot of allegations,” Hirono responded.
