On Thursday, newly minted Media Research Center (MRC) President David Bozell joined WMAL’s “O’Connor and Company” to talk with host Larry O’Connor about the future of the organization, his father’s, L. Brent Bozell III, appointment by President Donald Trump to be the Ambassador to South Africa and more.
Bozell began by speaking about his new leadership role at the MRC and the weight it brings.
“It would be a lot easier if this was some kind of moribund organization where I could just throw anything at the wall and hope it stuck,” Bozell said. “Media Research Center was talked about by Joe Rogan and Aaron Rodgers and Elon Musk just yesterday. That’s the kind of company we’re keeping on a daily basis now.”
O’Connor asked Bozell about his father’s appointment and the importance of it, particularly after the tense meeting on Wednesday between Trump and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“He’s excited,” Bozell told O’Connor. “President Trump needed a bulldog. My father’s certainly that. That’s going to be a tough assignment for him. He’s excited for a new challenge in a part of the world he never thought he would go explore.”

When asked whether the legacy media has become better or worse in terms of their bias after Trump’s second presidential victory, Bozell brought up the media’s willingness to use disinformation at every turn, calling out CNN anchor Jake Tapper for his new book, “Original Sin.”
“How about this egregious attempt at revisionist history?” Bozell posited. “Trying to rewrite this thing, ‘Oh my gosh! We were lied to by the Biden White House.’ These guys had a front row seat for this administration, the Biden administration. The whole time, I am old enough to remember when [Biden White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre) KJP stood up on the White House dais and lecture the entire world that the conservative media ecosystem was engaging in nothing more than deepfakes.”
