The Television Academy Honoree for Thursday night simply should not Bee.
“The decent and honorable thing for the Television Academy to do is immediately disinvite Samantha Bee. The Academy should and they could but they probably won’t,” Media Research Center President Brent Bozell said in a statement Thursday.
“They have shown if it's a leftist attacking a conservative or Republican it’s okay. This is Hollywood after all and they won’t do it because they are supportive of this type of abomination. This is just proof positive of the hypocrisy of liberals in Hollywood and in general. Imagine if Roseanne had said this about the Obama daughters and was being honored tonight. The Television Academy would have immediately disinvited her. For conservatives and Republicans, it’s open season against them, including making repugnant statements about the children of US Presidents,” Bozell said.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders called Bee “vile and vicious” and said executives at TBS and corporate parent Time Warner “must demonstrate that such explicit profanity about female members of this administration will not be condoned.”
Currently, Samantha Bee is set to be honored Thursday evening by the Television Academy. The front page of the Television Academy’s website hosts her picture, under the headline “It’s Funny Because It’s True.”
Using the "It's Funny Because It's True" principle has proven an effective way to reach viewers who are quite frankly, tired of being lied to and are in need of feeling something other than anger and total despair while watching the news.
