MRC's Bozell: Distortion of Sessions Meeting Russian Ambassador 'A Political Hit Job'

Eric Scheiner | March 3, 2017

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell is calling the media’s distortions of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his interactions with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak “a political hit job.”

“The media’s outrageous distortions of then-Senator Sessions’ meeting with the Russian ambassador at the Republican Convention must end now. We now know this was a political hit job,” Bozell said in a statement Friday.

“Any future news stories that fail to mention the blockbuster report that Sessions’ meeting with the Russian ambassador was at the behest of the Obama State Department will give more evidence of this hit job -- and the anti-Trump media's role in it.”

“This is a hit job orchestrated by former Obama officials and holdovers in conjunction with a compliant media who are leveling untrue claims at an honorable public servant. There is now a real scandal that deserves investigation: What did the Obama administration know, and when did they know it? Who was behind this, and behind the leaks? But this is (another) Democratic scandal, so expect silence,” Bozell added.
