It sounds like the standards for beauty are dropping in Nevada.
According to The Blaze, the winner of the state's Miss Silver State USA pageant is a biological male identifying as a transgender woman who goes by the name Kataluna Enriquez. His win this week enables him to advance to the Miss Nevada USA pageant.
Should he be crowned as Miss Nevada, he will then be eligible to compete for the Miss USA title. The winner of that contest then enters the Miss Universe pageant.
Enriquez proclaimed that his victory at Miss Silver State USA was “a celebration of womanhood and diversity and this celebration of being your true self.”

Keep in mind that these words come from somebody who started life as a boy - and is still male, in every scientific sense.
In previous contests, Enriquez claimed he faced resistance due to his identity as a transgender woman, but said he has not let those incidents discourage him. Instead, he is determined to raise “awareness of the transgender community” in beauty pageants.
Because obviously, men deserve a chance to contend for the title of "Most Beautiful Woman."
