Mom Thanks FSU Football Player Who Ate Lunch With Her Autistic Son

In what might be one of the most heartfelt Facebook posts MRCTV has seen in a while, a mother’s love for her son can be felt a mile away.

Leah Paske of Tallahassee, Fla. took to the social networking site to share the story of how a nice gesture can go a long way in a person’s life.

Paske wrote of how she was bullied when she was a child and how it affected her, then spoke of her autistic son’s experiences in his first year of middle school, saying his autism has helped him avoid the hurt of being treated differently.

He doesn't seem to notice when people stare at him when he flaps his hands. He doesn't seem to notice that he doesn't get invited to birthday parties anymore. And he doesn't seem to mind if he eats lunch alone.

In the post, Paske talks of how the children no longer eat lunch with her son, and how she feels that such a sweet child should not have to eat alone.

Enter Florida State University (FSU) junior wide receiver, Travis Rudolph.

A bunch of Florida State’s players visited Paske’s son’s middle school, and Rudolph happened to see that the boy was eating alone. Rudolph then decided that he would grab a couple pieces of pizza and sit with Paske’s son.

Paske's friend sent her a picture of Rudolph and her son eating lunch together. Paske had no idea who the man eating lunch with her son was until her friend who sent her the picture told her.

“Travis Rudolph is eating lunch with your son,” said Paske’s friend.

Paske replied, “Who’s that?”

“FSU football player,” the friend answered.

Paske could not believe the voluntary kindness of Rudolph and took to Facebook to publicly thank him.

I'm not sure what exactly made this incredibly kind man share a lunch table with my son, but I'm happy to say that it will not soon be forgotten. This is one day I didn't have to worry if my sweet boy ate lunch alone, because he sat across from someone who is a hero in many eyes. Travis Rudolph thank you so much, you made this momma exceedingly happy, and have made us fans for life!
