When you sit down to enjoy a snack, let's say a piece of candy, do you consider whether the “personality” of your candy is inclusive or not?

If yes, continue reading this article at your own risk. If you get triggered, you can't say I didn't warn you.

Mars Candy announced that M&M’s will be adding a purple colored candy to its brand’s advertising campaigns to “represent acceptance and inclusivity.” Yes, the M&M’s you once knew and loved have caved to the progressive agendas.

Mars released a statement regarding the candy/character personality of the new addition.

Designed to represent acceptance and inclusivity, our newest member is known for her earnest self-expression. Keen self-awareness, authenticity and confidence are the driving forces behind Purple's charm and quirky nature.

("Her earnest self-expression?" If the company were serious about inclusivity, it would have made a candy with non-binary pronouns. Do better, Mars!)

The purple Spokescandy made her debut in a 2-minute long video titled “I’m Just Gonna Be Me” where she danced and sang about overcoming self-doubt and embracing her identity.

This isn’t the first time the iconic candy has caved to societal pressures and changes. At the start of 2022, Mars decided to make the female, green M&M less sexy.

At the time, Global VP of M&M’s Jane Hwang announced “We took a deep look at our characters, both inside and out, and have evolved their looks, personalities and backstories to be more representative of the dynamic and progressive world we live in.”

Sorry but I like M&M’s for the flavor, not for being gay or “inclusive.”

Nonetheless, Hwang's former motives stuck with her now with the “inclusive” driven new purple candy.

Hwang said this in reference to the newest addition.

Mars is thrilled to debut the newest member of the M&M’S cast of characters to the world. There is so much about our new spokescandy that people can relate to and appreciate, including her willingness to embrace her true self – our new character reminds us to celebrate what makes us unique.

This is Mars’ first new candy color in 10 years, as well as the first female peanut-flavored M&M.

While the candy so far hasn’t expressed her sexuality, Twitter users are already suspicious of the gender and sexual orientation of the candy.

Due to her “inclusive” nature, I suspect Mars will release which other female M&M she’s interested in soon.
