In yet another case of government trying to ruin everyone’s fun, “Pokemon Go” is being accused of violating a Milwaukee County ordinance for not seeking a permit before operating “sites” in county parks.

According to WISN 12 News, Milwaukee County sent a letter to the president of Niantic, the developer of “Pokemon Go,” “demanding” Niantic obtain a permit before operating any “site” at county parks.

It is unclear what county officials mean by a “’Pokemon Go’ site.” The game features Pokestops, which users frequent in order to obtain more items, but “Pokemon Go” does not require any official sites for Pokemon to appear.

Milwaukee County Parks Director John Dargle told WISN 12 News, “We're asking them to submit a permit so that we understand who is the contact (and) how we can get a hold of them if this should get out of hand.”

WISN 12 News reports Dargle is trying to get Niantic to comply with the permit process that is required for organizations that wish to hold events in county parks.

Niantic has yet to sponsor any official “Pokemon Go” events. Instead, users often flock to parks to catch vitual Pokemon on their own.

Dargle says he has not received a response from Niantic yet, but his “hopes are high.”

Dargle told WISN 12 News that the county would approve of a “Pokemon Go” permit if they apply for one, but it is unclear why the developer needs a permit in the first place.
