There’s an old saying: “There are lies, damned lies, and statistics,” implying that stats can be turned into -- or support – some of the worst lies in history.

Then there’s the saying, “There are real numbers, and then there are government statistics,” implying the same thing, perpetrated by agents of the state.

And, as repeatedly has been shown in other government agencies handling pandemic propaganda, new reports indicate that a US government-connected organization (shock) CLAIMED that 600,000 members of the United States military and their dependents were infected, when they weren’t.

Carlos Garcia reports for The Blaze that TRICARE, the government-created health “coverage” organization formerly known as CHAMPUS (Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Uniformed Services) sent letters to 600,000 of its covered clients telling them that they were COVID19-positive.

They were not.

Tricare apologized for alarming several hundred thousand people because of a poorly worded email that implied the recipient was a coronavirus survivor. The email went out from Humana Military, a regional manager for Tricare.

Yep, the claim wasn’t true, as Garcia points out:

About 31,000 people affiliated with the U.S. military have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, far fewer than the 600,000 reached by the erroneous email.

It turns out, more than a few recipients of the message weren’t pleased to have been told they were “positive” when they had never been tested.

Military.com documented the mistake and reported messages on social media from those confused about the email. ‘Just wondering [if] anybody [got] an email from Tricare saying since you are a COVID survivor, please donate your plasma.?? I have NOT been tested,” posted one recipient on Facebook.

Government statistics… Lies… Errors… They mount and mount. Yet Americans are told by many bureaucrats and politicians that they have to trust the government – even as they are forced to pay for it.

The TRICARE heads sent out a letter to apologize for the error. But, across the US, government errors and attacks on our rights under the guise of “protecting against COVID19” are bringing the economy to a trough not seen in over a decade. Will the bureaucrats and politicians apologize for that?

Unlikely. Meanwhile, Americans have to keep subsidizing the organizations that bandy about incorrect information.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be free?
