Buckle up, everyone: it’s just about time for the Midterm Variant.

You know – the one that will force us all back indoors, where we can forget all about high gas prices and hand our ballots over to harvesters to kindly take to the post office? That one.

According to Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, the same “experts” who brought us “2020, a Catastrophe in 12 Parts” are now predicting another Covid wave heading this way come the fall. Probably, if I’m a betting woman, around November.

“What I will tell you is that come the fall and winter, most everyone who’s an expert on pandemics and these viruses will tell you, there’s a strong chance that we’ll see a resurgence of the virus, whether the variants we have now or new variants,” Becerra said Monday.

What variants? Could be the BA.5 strain that’s now been found in multiple states. Thankfully, it’s an omicron strain – meaning that while it might make you sick, it’s far less likely to hospitalize or kill you than some of the earlier versions. But don’t count on left-leaning fearmongerers like those over that the Daily Beast to tell you that – according to them, BA.5 is “the most dangerous one yet.”

Or it could be – hold on to your hats – BA.2.75, which is now spreading across India and is said to be so contagious that it can get around vaccines (shocker!) and even immunity from previous Covid infection. (Though is it really more deadly? Magic 8-ball says, “Not likely.”)

But if there’s one thing you can count on even more than the next terrifying variant of this two-year-old virus, it’s that the left will use whatever they can think up to dodge a bullet in November.
