Former First Lady Michelle Obama is gearing up for her upcoming book tour focused on her new memoir “Becoming,” to launch in November, a novel touted as “An intimate, powerful, and inspiring memoir by the former First Lady of the United States.”
And if you want to hear her talk about it, you'll have to cough up a pretty penny.
On Amazon, the memoir is described as “a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling," waxing that "Michelle Obama invites readers into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her.”
In reference to the size of the tour, according to The Washington Times, “There has never been a rollout quite like the one for Obama's memoir 'Becoming,' with stops including the Pepsi Center in Denver and American Airlines Center in Dallas.”
The tour's planned stops include venues that seat at least 15,000 people, while tickets range from just under $30 right up to $3,000. Many fans of Obama have expressed excitement for the tour -- as well as irritation with the ticket pricing.
Despite complaints, tickets have been selling quickly. Mrs. Obama expressed excitement about the tour, tweeting:
Truly humbled by the response to my upcoming book tour. I can’t wait to share BECOMING with all of you & hope to see you somewhere along the way! pic.twitter.com/uT7im9hnFk
