California health officials announced Monday that mask-wearing will become mandatory in all indoor public settings in the state regardless of vaccination status.

The new mask mandate kicks off on Dec. 15th.

"Are you serious?” Vince’s Barbershop owner Boris Zavurov told NBC7 in San Diego. “Oh, my God. Not again."

"That was frustrating with the mask mandates, especially in our industry. We’re cutting hair. We’re servicing clients and they’re doing their beard trims and shaves and that’s really inconvenient for us."

“How many of these shots did you have - when are you considered ‘safe enough’ that you don’t have to wear a mask everywhere you go?” Robin Yeman told NBC7.

California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly says, “We know that there's going to be people who don't necessarily agree with this, who are tired, who aren't going to mask.”
