'Merica! Gov. Kristi Noem Releases Ad Promoting South Dakota: 'We Trust Our People, We Respect Their Rights'

13.2k views

Occasionally, there are some videos you watch that afterwards you just want to scream, “‘Merica!” or say “That’s the American can-do spirit we know and love.” This is one of those videos.

Republican Governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem released on her YouTube channel Thursday that’s essentially an ad to try and persuade people to come visit or move to her state. The ad is very pro-business and pro-personal freedoms that other states seem to have left behind long ago.

South Dakota offers freedom from corporate and personal income taxes, freedom from red tape and regulation, and a business friendly environment that’s second-to-none.

“Here in South Dakota, we trust our people. We respect their rights. We won’t shut them down,” Noem said. “We allow them to make their own decisions, to innovate and succeed with less government to get in the way.”

I don’t know about you, but if you’re someone like me who’s been thinking about getting away from big cities to move somewhere that lets people pursue the American dream without government getting in the way all the time, South Dakota is beginning to sound pretty damn good.
