Meghan McCain Responds to a Heckler Who Called For Her Father's Death at a Trump Rally

During a highly publicized pro-Trump rally in Phoenix on Tuesday, an alleged supporter of the president could reportedly be heard yelling, "McCain needs to die now!" in reference to Arizona Sen. John McCain, who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. The incident was tweeted by journalist David Catanese, who was in attendance.

Shortly after the tweet hit the internet, Meghan McCain, Sen. McCain's daughter, responded to the unnamed heckler's comment.

"I wouldn't wish seeing this about your own father on my worst enemy," she said. "May God help these people who inflict such cruelty in the world."

Sen. McCain has recently undergone his first round of radiation and chemotherapy for a glioblastoma after the tumor was discovered while he was undergoing an unrelated surgery for a blood clot removal above his eye. He was seen looking decently healthy and in good spirits in a photo posted by his daughter as they watched the solar eclipse earlier this week.
