Actress Megan Fox defended letting her 6-year-old son wear dresses to school even after he was laughed at and made fun of by other students.

The “Transformers” star said during an interview on “The Talk” that she’s encouraged her son Noah to express himself as he wants – even if that means dressing up like a girl.

“Sometimes he’ll dress himself and he likes to wear dresses, sometimes,” she said. “And I send him to a really liberal, hippy school, but even there – here in California – he still has little boys going, ‘Boys don’t wear dresses’ or ‘Boys don’t wear pink.’ So we’re going through that now, where I’m trying to teach him to be confident no matter what anyone else says.”

Fox is hardly the first celebrity to say she encourages her young child to dress up as the opposite gender. Charlize Theron has openly talked about how her own 6-year-old son, Jackson, likes to dress up as a girl. Angelina Jolie has publicly endorsed her 12-year-old daughter, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, dressing in boys’ clothes for the past several years. Actress Kate Hudson is parenting her three children “genderless,” saying they can decide their own “identity” for themselves as they get older. Singer Adele famously brought her son Angelo to Disneyland dressed as the princess Anna from “Frozen.”
