McConnell To Schumer: ‘There Is Nothing to Call This Except a Threat’

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) verbally slammed Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on the Senate floor Thursday morning, following Schumer’s public “threats” on Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

“There is nothing to call this except a threat,” McConnell said.

McConnell then read what Schumer shouted during a pro-abortion rally outside the Supreme Court on Wednesday. 

"I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price!" "You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions."

McConnell went on to say, that threatening the court if they don’t receive rulings they like, is nothing new for Democrats.

“Last summer a number of Senate Democrats sent an extraordinary brief to the Supreme Court. It threatened to inflict institutional change on the court if it not rule the way the Democrats wanted. In other words, ‘give us the ruling we want or we’ll change the numbers of the court.’”
