Instead of focusing on the violence that grips the city of Chicago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel has decided to contribute to the lawlessness in the Windy City.

Emanuel was apparently super upset after President Trump’s decision to effectively end former president Barack Obama’s unconstitutional Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program -- so much so that he declared Chicago a “Trump-free zone.”

Here's what Emanuel had to say:

Tuesday, Emanuel told Chicago's DACA recipients they don’t have to worry about being deported or separated from their families.

“To all the DREAMers that are here in this room and the city of Chicago, you are welcome in the city of Chicago,” Emanuel said. “This is your home and you have nothing to worry about.”

“Chicago — our schools our neighborhoods, our city, as it relates to what President Trump said — will be a Trump-free zone,” Emanuel proudly proclaimed.

Of course, the kids that were brought here illegally didn’t have any say in their trip to the U.S. But their parents still broke the law, and they've been living in known violation of it for much of their lives.

In fairness, Trump did give Congress six months to pass a legal version of the DACA program.

But Emanuel is right -- DREAMers in Chicago have nothing to worry about. Well, except for being shot, because Emanuel doesn't seem to care much about crime -- whether it's illegal immigration or murder.
