Defense Secretary James Mattis received President Trump’s new national security adviser John Bolton at the Pentagon on Thursday.
In an off-microphone exchange, Mattis was captured saying, “Thank you for coming. It’s good to finally meet you … I heard you're actually the devil incarnate, and I wanted to meet you."
Well that’s one way to break the ice.
Bolton couldn't help but laugh as the two made their way into the building.
The left had a meltdown after news of Bolton’s appointment broke last week, calling him “dangerous” and even the new “Armageddon” for his hardline views on Iran and North Korea.
President Trump announced on Twitter last Thursday that Bolton, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and undersecretary of State for arms control and international affairs, would be replacing national security adviser Gen. H.R. McMaster.
McMaster issued a statement the same day announcing his resignation after months of rumors of his ousting.
