“Women should be safe in women’s restrooms. Men should be safe in men’s restrooms.”
That shouldn’t be a controversial take, but it’s what a concerned citizen said in a school board meeting for the Elmira Heights Central School District. The citizen was speaking about a teacher, identified only as “Mr. C,” who was allegedly forced to resign over not letting a male elementary school student use the girls’ bathroom.

The teacher was apparently “beloved” and had taught at an elementary school in the Elmira Heights, NY school district for 37 years. The controversy was discussed at the school board meeting last week.
The school board did not confirm or deny if the incident occurred, according to WENY News.
It seems like this school district and the state of New York need a lesson in biology!
Denying the use of restrooms or other facilities because of a person's gender identity is a violation and is considered unlawful discrimination, under New York State Education Law.
