Sometimes you watch a video and the content of that video makes you swell with pride in the fact that there are still way more people than you’d think that are proud of this great country that I, and a many others, have the privilege of living in.

Last week, a FedEx delivery driver was caught on camera — not for the typical act of throwing a box carelessly onto someone’s property — but for going out of his way to preserve a fallen American flag.

Marine Corps veteran Mike King was just driving along in Maryland delivering packages for FedEx when he noticed something that someone’s flag pole had fallen in the midst of 50 mph gusting winds. The pole had two flags on it, a Baltimore Ravens football team flag and “Old Glory.”

It had been almost a week a week after Thanksgiving, so King had to have been super busy delivering packages that had been ordered the previous weekend. But, he wasn’t too busy to stop by the home of Gail Cook after he noticed that the American flag had fallen because of the pole being knocked over by the high winds.

Take a look at what King did:

An act like that certainly keeps your faith in people alive. Your faith becomes even stronger when you realize that King didn’t have to stop, because he didn’t have a package to deliver to Cook’s residence.

If you noticed, King was so thoughtful that he went back to the porch multiple times to not only make sure Cook’s American flag was safe and secure, but also to take Cook into consideration to the point that he also neatly secured her Ravens flag.

Cook took the time to make a Facebook post about the act of kindness, noting that she hopes “he gets the the recognition he deserves.”

A representative for FedEx commented on the situation, giving the King the “recognition” that Cook, and many others, felt King so richly deserved.

“FedEx Ground is proud of the many contributions our team members and vendors make to our local communities every day,” the FedEx representative said, according to Breitbart. “We commend the patriotic actions of Mike King, a service provider employee who went above and beyond to properly care for a fallen American flag while on his route.”

King responded to the recognition in the comments section of Cook's Facebook post.

"Gail Cook it's the Marine way," King wrote, "would have done better justice for Lady glory if the wind wasn't gusting at 50 lol. You and Eric are welcome I couldn't just drive by and do nothing."

God bless you, Marine! And, God bless America!
