Sometimes you read news and wonder to yourself, ‘Are we living in backwards world?’ When the people in government who should be held accountable for their actions never are, while those who call for accountability are the ones persecuted, something is really wrong with the way things seem to work.

You might remember the brave Marine who posted a video to Facebook that went viral in late August after the bungled withdrawal of forces, Americans and Afghan that aided the U.S. military.

Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller conveyed his disgust with military leadership and the way they handled the withdrawal, along with calling for accountability.

Now, Lt. Col. Scheller’s father told the outlet Task & Purpose that not only was his son ordered to go through a mental health screening following the release of the video, but he is currently in the brig — a military jail — pending a hearing.

“All our son did is ask the questions that everybody was asking themselves, but they were too scared to speak out loud,” Stu Scheller Sr. said.

“They had a gag order on him and asked him not to speak,” Scheller Sr. also said. “He did, and they incarcerated him. They don’t know what to do with him.”

It’s understandable that because Lt. Col. Scheller violated a “gag order” that he was reprimanded for it, but why was the gag order placed on him in the first place?

Task & Purpose reported that Marine Corps spokesman Capt. Sam Stephenson said in a statement that “the time, date and location of the proceedings have not been determined. Lt. Col. Scheller will be afforded all due process.”

Scheller Sr. told the outlet that his son is scheduled have a military hearing on Thursday.

To the American leadership. Very Respectfully, US
