No soldier gets left behind.

De'Aundrae Sims is a 29-year-old Marine who, unfortunately, was diagnosed with leukemia very recently. The diagnosis meant that he wouldn’t be able to take his wife Dominique to the Marine Ball that was being held over the weekend.

However, in a true act of greatness, Sims’ fellow Marines decided to bring the Marine Ball to him.

Pictures posted by KGW News in Oregon show a quick glimpse of the Marines posing in the Oregon Health and Science Intensive Care Unit. Although still clearly hooked up to machines for his treatments, Sims and his fellow Marines are all smiles. Sims even took a picture with some of the staff in the ICU.

Details are a bit sparse, as only a few pictures were posted, though feel free to leave a comment for Sims and his fellow Marines on KGW’s original Facebook post.
