A Texas man has received death threats after posting a picture on Facebook of a Texas billboard which reads, “Liberals, Please continue on I-40 until you have left our GREAT STATE OF TEXAS.”

The man, Kyle Mccallie, told CBS 11 News and KYTX-TV that he saw the billboard on his way to work, posted it on Facebook, and has since received at least 10 death threats, including one from a man who said he would snap Mccallie’s neck.

“Typical redneck*****,” the comment reads. “Needs a gun to protect himself. I don’t need a gun to snap your neck.”

The Texan doesn’t seem phased by the death treats.

Mccallie responded to the threats by commenting, “Just a fair warning due to the price of ammo I can’t afford to give a warning shot so bring a buddy to help out you back in your car.”

“If they show up and have beef at my house then I will handle it accordingly,” Mccallie told CBS 11. “Don’t enter someone else’s property without permission is all I can say!”

As of Thursday morning, Mccallie’s Facebook post has over 20,000 shares.

The billboard company, Burkett Outdoor Advertising, has also been receiving threats, but they, too, are not backing down.

“We’re a firm believer in First Amendment rights,” owner of the company, Randy Burkett told CBS 11 News.

However, the client that paid for the Texas billboard, who Burkett refuses to reveal, has requested to have the billboard taken down, saying the intention was not to divide the country.
