A young man is going viral on social media after someone took footage of him saving a frightened, stranded cat from atop what looked to be an HVAC unit as Hurricane Ian slammed into the Florida coast Wednesday.
Proving that even the worst of times can bring out the best in people, the guy can be seen in the video stepping into the flood and carefully crossing the surge to lift up the terrified feline, who clung tightly to the man's shirt as he made his way safely through the flood waters and into the relative safety of the indoors.

The hurricane blasted the Florida coast with torrential rain and winds of 140 miles per hour, almost immediately decimating the beachfront in Naples before slowly moving its way inland.
