Majority Of Democrats Say Benghazi Is a Problem For Hillary

Despite the liberal media's insistence that the debate over Hillary Clinton's role in the Benghazi debacle is a non-issue, a majority of self-described Democrats seem to disagree.

A new Washington Post/ABC News Poll finds that 51% of Democrats believe that Hillary Clinton's handling of the Benghazi incident is a legitimate issue in next year's presidential election. This result is particularly interesting when compared to Democrats' feelings on some of the other controversies surrounding Clinton.  The poll found that a majority of Democrats feel that questions surrounding the dealings of the Clinton Foundation and Hillary's use of a private email server while Secretary of State are not legitimate issues that should have an impact on the 2016 campaign.

Overall, sizeable majorities of those polled believe that Benghazi and the activities of the Clinton Foundation are legitimate issues to be considered in next years presidential contest. A plurality believe that questions about Hillary's e-mail server are fair game.

The fact that Democrats view Clinton's handling of Benghazi as a "legitimate issue" does not necessarily mean that those Democrats believe that Clinton mishandled the situation.  However the findings fly in the face of claims by liberals in the media who have insisted that the Benghazi debate is a non-issue that Republicans have only kept alive in order to attack Mrs. Clinton in hopes of derailing her presidential run.

The poll sampled 1,001 adults and was conducted between May 28 and May 30 of 2015.
