All of a sudden, the censorious left is outraged and terrified about free speech because dirty books are being banned from schools. Free speech once again matters to hypocritical leftists – just so long as it’s sexually perverse free speech.
Hopefully book banning does not go too far, but there is nothing wrong with questioning the appropriateness of placing some of these books in school libraries, where young children can access them.
A study by PEN America, a free speech advocacy organization, found that from July of 2021 to June of 2022, 1,648 individual book titles were banned from schools throughout the United States. According to the study, “674 titles (41 percent) explicitly address LGBTQ+ themes or have protagonists or prominent secondary characters who are LGBTQ+.”

While this sounds awful and discriminatory, (and maybe that is the case with some), here’s a question: why are that many books dealing with LGBT issues in kids’ libraries to begin with? Does someone have an agenda?
And many of these titles are books any sane parent would be absolutely horrified to see their children get their hands on. One graphic example was posted today by the popular Twitter account Libs of Tik Tok. The tweet reveals a pornographic book titled This Book Is Gay. It provides information how to have gay sex and use sex apps. It was found on display at Huntley Community School District 158 in Illinois, which is pre-K through 12th grade.
Another example is the most commonly banned book, which is titled Gender Queer. It is a graphic novel so younger students are likely more susceptible to it. It glorifies identifying as LGBTQ+ and also promotes vulgar sexual acts. Here are just some of the obscene excerpts. This will test any parent’s open-minded tolerance.
A recent piece by Salon claims librarians are fearful they will be arrested, citing 27 police reports filed accusing librarians of providing inappropriate or ‘pornographic’ material to children.” It seems like there is a simple solution to this issue -- remove the perverted propaganda from schools.
