A giant American flag was built on the plaza of the Lincoln Memorial with nothing but red, white, and blue LEGOs and the display beams of patriotism.

The flag was assembled by visitors to the National Mall from Friday, June 29 to Monday, June 2. CBS News reports that over 2,800 people helped construct the 16 feet by 31 feet display.

The Trust for the National Mall on its site described the community building project as a “fun and interactive celebration before America’s birthday!”

It was done in partnership with LEGO Systems, Inc. as a part of the LEGO Americana Roadshow, “a highly visual, educational, and free traveling installation of larger-than-life LEGO replicas of iconic buildings and architectural structures.”

Other large-scale murals have been built of the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial.

One LEGO fan posted a time-lapse video of the tour’s latest creation on YouTube:

Happy Fourth of July and God bless America!
