‘Literally a Call to Arms?” Hirono’s Reckless Abortion Rhetoric

The left purport themselves to be pro- democracy and anti-political violence, but most Americans must see right through that.

If the 2020 BLM protests were not enough to expose people, the reckless rhetoric from prominent politicians regarding abortion should make that abundantly clear.

The latest demonstration of this was on September 14, when Senator Mazie Horono, in a speech on the Senate floor, said, “When I hear my colleagues talking about how it should be states' rights or government should not be telling us what to do. The word hypocrites, it doesn't even go far enough to call them out on what they're doing. This is an outright attack on women in this country, that is how I see it. That is how more and more women and those who support our right to make decisions about our own bodies, that is how we see it. And why? Because that's what's happening. Clearly, this is literally a call to arms in our country. I yield the floor."

(Is it possible she uses “literally” the same wrong way Joe Biden is infamous for? Maybe, but Catholic-hating Hirono hasn’t earned the benefit of the doubt.)

This statement was so outrageous that even Axios reporter Jonathan Swan tweeted, “Are there any staff available to vet these speeches?”

Keith Olberman was triggered by Swan’s suggestion that there was something wrong with her speech and mocked him by tweeting, “Pearls clutched; account unfollowed.”

This is not the first time a leftist politician used this language. In May of this year, following the leak of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot tweeted, “To my friends in the LGBTQ+ community—the Supreme Court is coming for us next. This moment has to be a call to arms.”

Twitter still has not removed this tweet despite its policy on “glorification of violence,” which they used against Trump even though he used much tamer language.

It seems like the left ramps up their language in the months leading up to elections. Yet another example is Tim Ryan who said on Tuesday that “Some of those answers will come from Republicans, not the extremists that we are dealing with every single day. We’ve got to kill and confront that movement, but working with normal mainstream Republicans, that’s going to be really, really important.”

The Left disproportionately supports political violence. Biden has attempted to imply the opposite by stating that “Anyone who calls for the use of violence, fails to condemn violence when it’s used, refuses to acknowledge when an election has been won, insists upon changing the way in which you count votes, that is a threat to democracy and everything we stand for.”

These leftists do not face any accountability for their irresponsible inciting language. They get to stay on social media, get platforms on cable news, and are immune from investigation. It is a double standard that grows increasingly obvious each day.
