This Poor Liberal Was Traumatized By Firing a Rifle

In an alleged attempt to better understand gun owners, New York Daily News reporter Gersh Kuntzman decided to fire an AR-15 the day after the Orlando shooting.

His experiment did not go as well as he hoped.

As recounted in his report in the NY Daily News, Kuntzman claimed to have had a traumatizing experience firing the .223 caliber rifle.

Kuntzman even claimed he was suffering a mild case of PTSD:

“The recoil bruised my shoulder. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary case of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.”

It seems far-fetched to experience this much trauma from a rifle only slightly more powerful than a .22, and it appears that Kuntzman was probably exaggerating the effects of firing the AR-15. The recoil of the gun should not have bruised his shoulder and the smell really should not have been that pungent.

He also claims later in the article that the rifle could be switched to ‘full-auto’ mode, a preposterous considering the AR-15 is a semi-automatic rifle and the gun store he visited would not even be allowed to sell a ‘fully-auto’ weapon.

All of these “factors” apparently led to his traumatizing experience.

If it’s so traumatizing, why would Kuntzman do such a thing?

Probably because it plays into the liberal media’s rhetoric that no normal person should actually own, let alone shoot a gun.

Just another ridiculous piece of reporting from a reporter that couldn’t wait to politicize a horrific tragedy.
