Liberal Loser: Jill Greenberg

Until January, I worked for Atlantic Media, the parent company of both The Atlantic magazine and National Journal Group. It's a top-notch organization owned by David Bradley, one of the most generous and genuinely decent businessmen I've known. The free copies of The Atlantic were one of the best perks of a job with many perks. So yesterday's report at NewsBusters about The Atlantic being snookered by liberal photographer Jill Greenberg sickens me. Today, the New York Post did what Noel Sheppard wouldn't do at NewsBusters -- published some of the nasty images that Greenberg created from her deceptive and sinister shoot with John McCain. The Atlantic didn't use any of the images in question and editor James Bennet roundly condemned them. "We feel totally blind-sided," he told the Post. "Her behavior is outrageous. Incredibly unprofessional." But the magazine's reputation has been stained because it hired Greenberg. I can only hope that Bill O'Reilly soon will give Greenberg the national recognition she deserves by naming her a "pinhead" on "The O'Reilly Factor." But until then, I'll do my part by calling Greenberg out as a liberal loser. Her unprofessional behavior should be rewarded with a long stretch of unemployment. UPDATE: Good on The Atlantic for refusing to pay Greenberg and also paying its lawyers to brainstorm legal grounds for suing her. There are too many frivolous lawsuits in this country, but it's not frivolous to defend a historically revered brand. -- K. Daniel Glover
