Several left wing activist groups held a rally at the future site of the Trump International Hotel in in Washington D.C. on Thursday, calling on Walmart to refrain from sponsoring or holding events at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next week.

The group “Making Change at Walmart" alleges the retail giant gave $15,000 to the 2016 National Convention’s planning committee last November.

Now, they want Walmart to take a cue from other companies that have dropped out or scaled back their support for the convention, including Apple, Coca-Cola, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, and Ford Motor Company.

“As the nation’s largest retailer, Walmart has a responsibility to distance itself from Trump’s long history of racist, misogynistic, anti-veteran, and Islamophobic statements," said Making Change at Walmart member Jess Levin.

Other groups that are calling on Walmart to discontinue its monetary support for the GOP include the Employment Justice Center, Washington Teachers Union, and The Solidarity Center.

Similar rallies were also held in New York and Chicago.
