E Online has some news for the small screen: a “beloved female TV character is transitioning into a man…”

According to the site,

“Multiple sources connected to a fan-favorite, high-profile TV show tell me that one of the female characters will start transitioning into a man in an upcoming episode arc. “

This, apparently, will be the first “female-to-male” transition to be portrayed on a mainstream TV show. This will be handled in the most delicate of ways accord to E!, and will be quite emotional. The female character in question will be a character who has been on the show for many seasons and have had relationships with men in the past.

E Online will leak the show in question - however, they will make a game out of it while boosting the Facebook numbers to this page. They originally listed 15 shows, and with every 100 likes they will cross off one of the remaining shows in question.

The current list of shows as of Nov. 19th:

  • Scandal
  • Grey's Anatomy
  • Revenge
  • Once Upon a Time
  • Glee
  • Girls
  • Parenthood
  • The Mindy Project
  • How to Get Away With Murder
  • Nashville
  • Pretty Little Liars

Crossed off of the list are House of Cards, Parks and Recreation, The Walking Dead and Orange is the New Black. Now, while I don’t agree with doing this on a show, my money is on Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Willson) from Grey’s Anatomy and I’m not the only one who suspects a Grey’s Anatomy Character.

Grey’s Anatomy, has already “jumped the shark” with the plane crash thus killing off Dr. Sloan (Eric Dane) and Dr. Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) - so, what is next? They have had a straight woman become a lesbian in Callie Tores (Sara Ramirez), who marries another woman on the show. There was that stint with George O'Mally (T.R. Knight) and Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington) off-camera, thus leading to Dr. Burke leaving the show. So why not go for the hat-trick. I can see them taking a woman who has had a divorce, left to be a single mother, in and out of a relationship with a male nurse. She is now married to Dr. Ben Warren (Jason George) and even they have problems. So, why not Dr. Bailey?

-Update-

The Girls and Parenthood have been eliminated.
