Police arrested 49-year-old Craig Tamanaha, a homeless man, at the scene while the fire quickly consumed smaller Christmas trees that had been set up around the display. Tamanaha has since been charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, arson, criminal nuisance, endangering others, criminal trespass, criminal tampering and disorderly conduct.
The tree, dubbed the “All American Christmas tree” but the network and decorated in red, white and blue lights and ornaments, was only just unveiled Sunday night. Fox News added the tree, with its 10,000 glass ornaments and 100,000 twinkling lights, took over 21 hours to assemble.
Meanwhile, rabid leftists - and at least one disgruntled ex-employee - over on Twitter gleefully mocked the destruction.
