Chicago’s too busy worrying about whether their teachers actually want to get back to work or if they’re more interested in “civil disobedience” to care about the people being shot in their city.

At least another 24 people were shot across the Chicagoland area over the weekend, three of which died as a result of their wounds. This comes just one week after five people were killed and another 35 were wounded in shootings that occurred in Chicago the previous weekend.

Here’s an example of this past weekend’s violence, according to the Chicago Sun-Times:

The weekend’s first fatal shooting happened early Sunday morning in Fernwood on the Far South Side.

Kerion Watson, 19, was shot multiple times at 2:19 a.m. while standing on the sidewalk in the first block of West 104th Place, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

MRCTV has been keeping track of the running total of weekend shooting victims since Memorial Day weekend. Including this past weekend’s activities, at least 857 people have been shot on weekends with at least 123 dying from their respective incidents.

The Chicago Tribune has been keeping track of the total number of shooting victims in the city for all of 2019. As of October 27th, 2,313 people have been shot this year with two full months left to go.
