On “The Kelly File” Thursday night immediately following the Fox Business GOP debate in North Charleston, S.C., Fox News contributor and syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said that he believes Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump had “the moment” of the night in his exchange with rival Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) over “New York values.”

Throughout the debate, Cruz tried to bludgeon Trump by calling him the embodiment of a New Yorker, as if that were something to be ashamed of.

Trump said that was “very insulting” to millions of people, and that no place could have handled 9/11 “more humanely, more beautifully than New York.”

Krauthammer said Trump "clearly" beat Cruz with his "sober and serious response," leaving the Texas senator “utterly speechless.”

“I thought that was the moment of the debate,” said Krauthammer. “That was a moment where Trump clearly had won. Cruz, the main challenger had lost. And that alters the calculus of the whole evening.”

“Trump nailed that answer,” host Megyn Kelly agreed.
