Since House Speaker John Boehner announced that he would be stepping down from his position of leadership and retiring from Congress altogether by the end of October, Capitol Hill has been bursting with speculation as to who might be next in line to assume the speakership.

On Tuesday night’s “Special Report,” Fox News contributor and syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer noted Boehner's cheerful demeanor during an interview with host Bret Baier.

Based on his body language during the interview Tuesday evening, Krauthammer speculated that the Speaker already knows who will be taking his place.

“Looking at the Speaker in the interview with you, he looked like a man who had just been told that he’s getting out on parole,” said Krauthammer.

“Now he was a very happy guy, so I assume that means he's going to escape the speakership and there's somebody to take his place.”

Check out the rest of his remarks in the video below.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) announced Tuesday evening that he would be "happy and willing" to serve as House Speaker if factions within the Republican party would unite behind him and start behaving like a "team."
