Oscar-winning actor and House of Cards star Kevin Spacey will be seeking “evaluation and treatment” amid multiple sexual assault allegations.

In a statement through his public relations team Wednesday night, Spacey said he is “taking the time necessary” to do so.

“Kevin Spacey is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment,” said Staci Wolfe of Polaris. “No other information is available at this time.”

The statement comes after Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp, 46, accused Spacey of sexually assaulting him at a party in 1986, when Rapp was 14 years old.

Spacey apologized for the incident in a statement, saying that he was “beyond horrified to hear this story” and “honestly” does not remember the encounter.

He also took the opportunity to come out as gay, which many have criticized as an insulting deflection.

Others have since come forward with allegations against Spacey, including actor Robert Cavazos and filmmaker Tony Montana.

Netflix has cancelled the sixth and final season of House of Cards, suspending the show’s production indefinitely.

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has decided to rescind an award posed for Spacey at the 2017 International Emmy Awards.
