Kat Von D Says She's Leaving California, Citing 'Tyrannical Government Overreach' and 'Terrible Policies'

Tattoo artist and business owner Kat Von D is the latest celebrity to say she’s ditching California due to the state’s tyrannical policies and high taxes, saying she’s relocating part-time to Indiana so her son can enjoy the benefits of a “small town.”

The artist/entrepreneur, born Katherine Von Drachenberg, said her family's not selling their Los Angeles home, but they won’t be spending nearly as much time there, having reportedly already purchased a historic mansion in Vevay, Indiana.

"Definitely not ever selling our beautiful home in LA, but with all that's been taking place in California, with terrible policies, tyrannical government overreach, ridiculous taxing, amongst so much more corruption, we just felt the need to plant roots in a small town where my son can be free to play," she said in a Facebook post.⁣

Von D is just the latest in a slew of celebrities and business owners who’ve said they’re booking a one-way ticket out of the Golden State thanks to insane left-wing policies, astronomical taxes and increasing crime rates coupled with new dictatorial COVID restrictions. The Daily Wire, led by conservative pundit Ben Shapiro, announced earlier this year they’ll be relocating to Nashville, while Elon Musk took his electric car company, Tesla, from Silicon Valley to Texas to get out from under burdensome regulations and taxes. Charles Schwab executives announced they’ll be leaving San Francisco next year.

Between 2018 and 2019, 765 companies left California and its 8.85% corporate tax behind for other states.
