California Senator and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is advocating for Twitter to “suspend” President Donald Trump’s account, saying it’s a “privilege” and “should probably be taken from him” because he’s “irresponsibly with his words.”

Harris’ comments come after Trump used the social media platform to push back on the left’s claims that he abused his presidential power to pressure Ukraine into investigating former Vice President Joe Biden’s family.

“He uses his power in a way that is designed to beat people down instead of lift people up,” Harris told CNN’s Anderson Cooper Monday night. “If you look at what he’s been tweeting today, directed at the whistleblower, directed at so many people…I frankly think that, based on this and all we’ve seen him do before, including attacking members of Congress, that his Twitter account should be suspended.

“There's plenty of evidence to suggest that he is irresponsible with his words in a way that could result in harm to other people, and so the privilege of using those words in that way should probably be taken from him."

When Cooper asked if taking away Trump’s Twitter account would be “playing into the hands” of those who appreciate when the president speaks directly to the American people, Harris responded that “when a president speaks,” his words “should not be used in a way that is belittling or harming anyone.”

Harris reiterated her calls for Twitter to suspend the president’s account in a series of her own tweets.

It’s worth noting that Harris made no such push when fellow California lawmaker Maxine Waters called for her supporters to openly harass Trump administration officials in public, when Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib vowed to “impeach the motherf***er.”
