You can’t get much weirder than this.
A “gay transgender man” and “his” male partner (in other words, a straight couple) recently gave birth to their son. Now they’re being rewarded with a TV documentary.
After suffering years of miscarriages (Gee, I wonder why), gender-deluded Frankie and her male partner, Rāwā, finally gave birth to their baby boy, Hiwa-i-te-Rangi at their New Zealand home in 2023.
Now, in a documentary set to air on Television New Zealand on November 11, the Frankensteinian couple will be sharing their story to “raise visibility around carrying a child as a trans man,” according to the New Zealand Herald.
Viewers will get the full gritty details of Frankie’s “home water birth, birthing complications, feeding, and the emotions the parents experienced after their son’s arrival.” It’s probably best not to turn on the program while you’re eating dinner.
Actually, it's probably best you just don't turn it on at all.
If it wasn’t already clear, Frankie (a biological female) suffers from gender dysphoria, the Herald reports. Despite surgically altering much of her body to live as a man, she declined to go through with “bottom surgery,” a procedure that would turn her lady bits into a fake penis.
In addition to still being attracted to men, Frankie wanted to be impregnated by one. But the levels of testosterone pumped into her body made her journey difficult.

“We had to wait seven months before my body burned through the testosterone stores I had before we were given the green light to start trying to conceive,” she told the Herald.
The couple began to lose hope until New Year’s Eve in 2022, when Frankie started throwing up.
“We just assumed it was the unsanitary environment that we were in, because it was disgusting,” she told the Herald. She decided to take a pregnancy test “'because, you know, sometimes you just do it for s***s and giggles.”
When it turned out positive, Frankie told the Herald they “couldn’t even say anything” so they “had a shower in silence” (an image nobody needed).
The couple was “just shell-shocked.” Imagine how shocked their child will be when he tries to wrap his head around his dad being his mom.
“If we only ever have one child, we are so blessed that we had such a beautiful birth and we were so well loved and looked after. But also, you know, we do want to have more children,” Frankie added.
God help them.
