The first major medical association to publicly oppose mutilating minors is run by…plastic surgeons of all groups.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, representing 11,000 members, told City Journal’s Leor Sapir it “has not endorsed any organization’s practice recommendations for the treatment of adolescents with gender dysphoria.” The group added there is “considerable uncertainty as to the long-term efficacy for the use of chest and genital surgical interventions” and that “the existing evidence base is viewed as low quality/low certainty.”
Sheila Nazarian, a well-known plastic surgeon, even told Sapir her colleagues in the field are “increasingly expressing concern” over doctors pushing gender-confused children into taking hormones and undergoing surgeries. But as numerous whistleblowers in multiple practices reveal, she said her fellow surgeons “are afraid” they’ll jeopardize their job security by speaking out.
Still, the statements made by her field’s leaders mark a huge break in the leftist narrative that it’s kosher to hack off children's sexual organs in the name of “gender affirming care,” since “all major U.S. medical associations” unanimously “support” it. Their argument had already fallen flat, because it only considered the beliefs of minor groups of “ideologically driven” association members who “exploit their colleagues’ trust,” Sapir notes.
The World Professional Association for “Transgender Health” is a ringleader of those groups, according to the U.K.’s Cass Review. Their report implies WPATH partnered with the U.S. Endocrine Society to create a bogus agreement among medical fields by citing their own opinions without assessing other evidence.
But the delusion is dangerous – it guilted the U.S. into becoming one of the few Western countries that allows agenda-corrupted surgeons to permanently damage the bodies of children, Sapir adds.
The Biden administration endorses a proposal that would give no age minimums for gender “transition” surgeries, excluding phalloplasties (a procedure that creates a fake penis for a biological girl using tissue from other body parts). Doctors can even find loopholes for that if they find “significant, compelling reasons,” it states.
The gender mafia controlling our medical industry is now encouraging a growing trend of mastectomies for underage “nonbinary” patients deluded into thinking they’re neither male nor female.
At least some surgeons are finally speaking out. Now imagine if they all had the guts.
