Joy Reid Apologizes - Again - But STILL Doesn't Address Hacking Claims

After being exposed for writing blogs consisting of homophobia, 9/11 conspiracies, and now, joking of mass shootings, Joy Reid released an official apology Friday afternoon.

"There are things I deeply regret and am embarrassed by, things I would have said differently and issues where my position has changed." she said. "Today I'm sincerely apologizing again."

The statement comes in response to her most recent controversy regarding her 2007 blog titled, "Baghdad John Strikes Again," which features a photoshop of John McCain's head onto the Virginia Tech shooter.

Reid apologized to the McCain family; however, there is one major issue not addressed in the statement: any mention of her hacking claims.

The MSNBC host stated back in April that she had nothing to do with her homophobic blog, claiming it was a result of her being hacked. She failed to provide legitimate proof of this claim, now shifting her defense to an apparent change of views.

"I've also spoken openly about my evolution on many issues and know I am a better person today than I was over a decade ago." Reid stated in her apology.

From "I was hacked," to "my position has changed," Reid has a lot of explaining to do.

Meanwhile, her employer, MSNBC, released a statement, noting that Reid's blog posts are "not reflective of the friends and colleges" at MSNBC.

Regarding Reid's claims of a change of heart, the company stated that they "know this to be true."

Whether you think Reid should be fired or not, the hypocrisy over who can espouse bigoted views while keeping their job remains clear.
