If the cult in Hollywood ever attempts a remake of the Wizard of Oz, could we please cast Joy Behar as the Wicked Witch of the West?

Behar stuck her foot in her mouth — which she’s become an expert at doing — after “The View” covered the ongoing war of words between actress “Hanoi” Jane Fonda and NBC’s Megyn Kelly on Tuesday.

“Jane should’ve just said to her, ‘And how much work have you had done, bitch?’” Behar ignorantly pondered.

Of course, Behar had to take the broomstick out of her behind long enough to make a public apology to Kelly mere minutes later.

Check out Behar’s sort-of apology:

I want to apologize to Megyn Kelly. I didn’t mean to call her a bitch. I like her, actually. I’ve met her at parties, and I like her. I just think she’s struggling for a persona, like a comedian is looking for, ‘Who am I on stage?’ She doesn’t know who she is.

Behar absolutely meant to call Kelly a "bitch." The more likely reason she apologized so quickly is because she probably had a producer telling her in her earpiece that what she said might have been too much considering that Kelly is a fellow woman.

Here’s “The View” segment in full (Behar’s comment comes around the 3-minute mark):

Kelly finally stood up for herself on Monday after months of backhanded comments from Fonda as a result of an interview with the 80-year-old “feminist icon” in which Kelly brought up Fonda’s cornucopia of plastic surgery in a discussion about the aging of women.

Fonda had previously been very open about the work she’s had done over the years, but she took exception when Kelly brought it up during their interview.

Here’s a clip:

Well, that was uncomfortable.

After staying silent about Fonda for months, Kelly did a live segment dedicated to addressing the Fonda situation, and she didn’t hold back one bit. At one point she called out Fonda for her anti-war propaganda that she willfully engaged in during the Vietnam War.

Here’s video of Kelly’s response:

“By the way, she [Fonda] still says she is not proud of America,” Kelly said, “so the moral indignation is a little much. She put her plastic surgery out there. She wanted to discuss the plight of older women in America, and honestly, she has no business lecturing anyone on what qualifies as offensive.”

Maybe Kelly is finally finding her footing in the liberal oasis that is NBC, maybe not. But, at least “Hanoi Jane” got a little dose of comeuppance on national television.
